Rosemary Pear Champagne Cocktail

Why should pumpkins and apple get all the attention this fall, especially when the majestic pear is also in season?  Revered throughout history as a symbol of purity and nobility, the pear is a symbol of sensuality.   What better fruit to pair with the opulent Veuve Clicquot Rosé in this Rosemary Pear Champagne Cocktail!

Veuve Clicquot Rosé is a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and other reserve wines.  Notes of black raspberry and cherry, with a touch of pink grapefruit, balance the fruity pear nectar.  Fresh rosemary adds an aromatic finish to the cocktail;a juxtaposition between rustic earth and the delicate cloud of sweet bubbles.

Rosemary Pear Champagne Cocktail

By the glass

  • 1 Bottle Veuve Clicquot Rosé
  • 1 Bottle Pure Pear Nectar
  • 1 Pear, Washed and sliced into paper thin slices
  • Fresh Rosemary Twigs

Fill a champagne glass 1/2 full with chilled Veuve Clicquot Rosé.  Add 1 jigger of pear nectar.  Garnish the glass with a pear slice speared with a Rosemary twig.  The secret to this cocktail is to strike a balance between the effervescence of the sparkling wine with the thick pear nectar.   Too much nectar and the bubbles go flat; not enough and you miss the full essence of the pear.
