Rock A Healthy Breakfast with Snapware + A Giveaway

written by Julie Cohn

Rock A Healthy Breakfast With SnapwareI am not a doctor, nor do I play one on the internet, but I do know a healthy breakfast is key to a productive day.  With our busy schedules, preparing a healthy breakfast is not always easy, but I am determined to help my family eat healthier this year.  I know the key to a healthy breakfast for my family is to do meal prep in advance, so the healthy stuff is always available when we need it.  Here are my recommendations for five ways to Rock A Healthy Breakfast with Snapware, plus you can enter a giveaway to win Snapware® products, and rock a healthy breakfast for your family too!

{This is a sponsored partnership with Snapware but my opinions are 100% my own.}

Rock A Healthy Breakfast With Snapware

We have a 35-40 minute drive to get my son to school in the morning, so my family is up pretty early each day.  Mornings are rushed, so my son usually grabs a bagel or muffin before he runs out the door, and does not always make healthy decisions.  The solution?  Plan breakfasts that are quick to prepare, yet easy for him to to grab and go. Snapware® Total Solutions plastic food storage products help me to accomplish this goal.  Here are five ways I am rocking a healthy breakfast for my family this year with Snapware®. This breakfast meal prep only takes about 60 minutes to plan out and prep, and I can do it Sunday afternoons to be ready for the school week.

1. Prepare Fruit For Smoothies Ahead of Time

Rock A Healthy Breakfast 2

My son loves breakfast smoothies, plus they are great for on-the-go. By washing and cutting the fruit in advance, I can shave 15 minutes off my breakfast prep.  Snapware® products are freezer and refrigerator safe, so I can prep the fruit and place it in the fridge or freezer until I need it.  Fresh strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, blended with Greek yogurt (rich in protein), a little wheat germ, and fresh bananas make a delicious smoothie my son can drink in the car on the way to school.

2. Keep Hard-boiled Eggs Handy

Rock A Healthy Breakfast 1

Hard boiled eggs are rich in protein and easy to eat while on-the-go.  I boil a few days worth of eggs at a time, peel the shells, and keep them in an airtight Snapware® Total Solutions container in the refrigerator.  Hard boiled eggs, along with a piece of toast and fresh fruit, make a healthy breakfast to sustain him until lunch.

3. Make Oatmeal Ahead of Time

Rock A Healthy Breakfast 4

A warm breakfast is always welcome, especially in the wintertime.  Make 2-3 days worth of oatmeal in advance, mixing a little extra skim milk into the batch to keep it moist. Snapware® food storage containers are microwave safe, so not only can I store the oatmeal in my Snapware® Total Solutions, I can heat in it too.  Mix in fresh banana, blueberries, or apple (pre-chopped and stored in Snapware® of course) into the oatmeal for a hearty breakfast.

4. Slice Oranges for a Quick Vitamin C Pick-Me-Up

Rock A Healthy Breakfast 3

Orange juice is full of sugar, so I try to give him fresh oranges instead.  By slicing the oranges in advance and storing them in my BPA-free Snapware® containers, I can be sure he gets a healthy dose of Vitamin C in the morning.

5. Store and Heat Breakfast Quiche On The Go

Rock A Healthy Breakfast 5

One of my families favorite breakfast treats is my Sweet Potato and Spinach Quiche Cupcakes.  I make them ahead of time, freeze them, and re-heat in the microwave for a quick nutritious breakfast.  My 5.35 cup Snapware® Total Solutions food storage containers are large enough to hold a weeks worth of quiches from freezer to plate.
