It is thought that the mimosa was created at the Ritz Hotel in Paris in 1925, and has been a popular cocktail, especially for brunch, ever since.  The light, fruity flavor of prosecco compliments the orange juice and peach nectar well, and the abundant bubbles hold their own in the glass, even after mixing with the juices.  The peach adds a touch of tangy sweetness to the cocktail, and prosecco is a less expensive alternative to champagne.  These orange peach mimosa cocktails pair well with a variety of breakfast and brunch foods, such as French Toast, Eggs Benedict, and cheese omelets, and are the best excuse for having bubbly at breakfast!

Orange Peach Mimosa Cocktails

  • 1/2 Gallon of Fresh Orange Juice, without pulp
  • 1 c. Peach Nectar
  • 1 Bottle Prosecco, Chilled
Pour the orange juice and peach nectar into a large pitcher.  Slowly add the prosecco, but watch that it does not overflow from the bubbles.  Serve immediately, or keep chilled in the refrigerator until use.   Use within an hour of mixing, as the prosecco will lose its bubbles.
*Note:  To make this non-alcoholic, mix the peach nectar and orange juice with sprite.
