Remember those cherry bomb popsicles you ate as a kid in the summertime, the juice dripping down your chin as you ran around the backyard with the neighbor kids?  The only sensible way to get that sticky syrup off your face was to run through the Slip-n-Slide or to dive in the pool, right?  What great memories, but why should kids have all the fun?  This Cherry Bomb cocktail is the grown-up version of those childhood treats — a deliciously refreshing tangy-sweet cocktail that explodes on your tongue with flavor!  Mix up some Cherry Bomb cocktails, get out the Slip-n-Slide, and have some summer fun!

I received a sample of Solerno liqueur. My opinions and this recipe are my own.

Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur

This Cherry Bomb cocktail is made with Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur,  an invigorating liqueur made from the essential oils of ruby red Italian Arancia Rossa, otherwise known as Sicilian blood oranges. Blended with the flavors of lemon and orange, Solerno has powerful flavor notes of blood orange and lemon, with a delicate sweet finish of orange blossom.  These flavor profiles make Solerno equally nice on its own on the rocks or as an accompaniment for margaritas, mojitos, and other refreshing cocktails.  Solerno is a must for any well-stocked bar, plus the bottle is gorgeous, isn’t it?
